  • 10 Smashing service

Hi, I was recently in The Bicycle Hub. Its not my local shop. Thats in Oregon USA. My wife and I were on holiday in the area, and we needed a pannier rack to go on my bike which we had brought with us from the States. We were given the Bicycle Hub number by the hotel we were staying in. I rang them at 8:30am that morning, and was riding away with the exact rack I wanted by 9:30am, I can't even get that service from my bike shop back home. Jim and Leena.

  • 10 The best bike shop in the world

John, you're well wrong on this mate. its been going for nearly two years now. I bought a custom Severn from them last year. They stock a huge range of parts, most of it is behind the work benches, they can get just about everything next day delivery as well if they don't have what you are looking for. The opening hours are nonsense, I have been in the shop with other customers at 8 at night and at 7:30 in the morning. Frankly not being open on a sunday in the winter makes sense. Most people are out cycling not in bike shops on sundays, if you want evidence of this go to the shop make your self a brew as you'll be more than welcome, and see how many people come in. Not a lot of keen cyclists, there out putting the miles in, its mainly those who are looking to buy a bike. I have also seen them drop everything to help a cyclist who was badly injured in a riding accident locally, and made his way to the shop before being rushed off to hospital with a suspected punctured lung. So as for your experience, you really must have got out off the wrong side that day!!!!

  • 10 Wrong! - Its a great shop

I think you may have been in on a day where they were in a jovial mood! Most bike shops have geeks as sales people, the guys at the Bicycle Hub are really friendly and actually make a point of helping people out. As far as you comments on when their open you clearly have not experienced them at all, they usually are there before 8am and gone at 7pm. I don't think you will find this at many shops. They state it quite clearly on their website that the times open are a minimum. Take you complaints somewhere else we think the Hub is one of the leading forward thinking shops around and if you are one of these geeks then enough said!

  • 2 Laughing up their sleeve

I went here to try to get some help with an emergency repair. The arrogance of the staff was breathtaking. I was spoken down to, made to feel stupid and was actually laughed at by two members of staff and management when I said I would think about whether I wanted them to do the work on my bike. All that aside, the shop carries a poor selection of brands and has opening hours to suit the business rather than the customer (closed on Sundays for a large part of the year - the day a lot of people would probably go for a ride, and also Monday). There are bike shops with superior service, stock and staff in Shrewsbury, Wolverhampton & Cannock - go there instead. If my experience with this place is typical I would be surprised to see them stay open long.
